AL QASIMI FOUNDATION RANKED ONE OF THE BEST NEW THINK TANKS FOR 2011

A report published by the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program at the University of Pennsylvania has once again ranked the Sheikh Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research as one of the Best New Think Tanks in the world. The Global Think Tanks Index, published annually, involves the support of think tanks and experts from every region of the globe.

This year, think tanks from 182 countries were invited to participate in the process. The total number of think tanks nominated was 5329 across 30 categories. Categories included Top Think Tank in the World, Top Think Tanks by Region, Top Think Tanks by Research Area, and Top Think Tanks by Special Achievement. • GRANTS & SCHOLARSHIPS

  Opportunities under three funding programs are provided: Doctoral Research Grants, Faculty Research Grants, and Teacher Scholarship Awards. The research grants aim to foster high quality research and develop the region's research capacity. The teacher scholarships support the professional development of teachers in Ras Al Khaimah.

  As a quasi-governmental, non-profit organization the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation for Policy Research seeks to aid in the social and economic development of the Ras Al Khaimah emirate in the UAE. Two key initiatives include the Foundation's training programs for teachers and school administrators and its research grants for university faculty and PhD students.
