Ras Al Khaimah Case Study on Education 2030 launched in United Arab Emirates

In the opening remarks, Her Excellency. Ms. Amal Al Koos, Secretary-General of the UAE National Commission for UNESCO highlighted that the study is a timely step towards improving quality education in UAE towards Education 2030. Dr. Natasha Ridge, Executive Director of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation gave welcome remarks and thanked all the participants for attending the launching event.

UNESCO Doha was represented by Faryal Khan Ed.D, who presented the regional synthesis of the Research Study in the GCC which covers the 6 GCC Case Studies. Ms. Maricel Fernandez-Carag presented RAK, UAE Case Study to the Ministry of Education, co-authored with Dr. Natasha Ridge, Executive Director of Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Foundation. The launch event met the following results:

(1) The Case Study was reviewed to assure consistency of the data presented and feedback and comments received prior to publication;

(2) Advocacy for utilization of findings to inform the ED policy dialogue at national level;

(3) Dissemination of the research study at national level. The participants expressed that the policy-makers should take into consideration the results of this study to improve quality and learning outcomes in Ras Al Khaimah and UAE for further plan; and 

(4) Utilization of research findings by MoE United Arab Emirates in preparing the national level Education 2030 goals and targets.
