Student Assessments Play A Major Role in Disrupting Curriculum Development, Study Finds

A study conducted by the Al Qasimi Foundation on curriculum development in the UAE confirms that the number of assessments students are subjected to, in combination with the methods of assessment and the decrease of the teacher-to-student ratio in classrooms, are some of the core obstacles preventing curriculum reform. The study has also uncovered widespread assessment score inflation linked to teachers granting students higher scores in order to cope with performance requirements, causing an inaccurate representation of how well students perform academically. read more (arabic)
