Three new publications released

The Foundation is delighted to announce three new publications addressing education in the GCC. The first is the Conference Proceedings from the second annual GCES Symposium 2011, held in Ras Al Khaimah in March 2011 on the theme of “Intersections of the Private and Public in Education in the GCC.” The proceedings can be downloaded from the Gulf Comparative Education Society (GCES) website by clicking here. The Foundation has also released its first working paper on “Economic, Social, and Political Attitudes in the UAE: A Comparison of Emirati and Non-Emirati Youth in Ras Al Khaimah,” written by Calvert Jones, a doctoral candidate at the Politics Department at Yale University and visiting scholar at the Al Qasimi Foundation. Finally, the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) has published a book entitled “Education in the UAE: Current Status and Future Developments,” that includes a paper written by Natasha Ridge and Samar Farah on “The Role of Curriculum in the Creation of a Knowledge-based Economy in the UAE.”
