Women @ Work Breakfast Series: Women in the Hospitality Sector

The Al Qasimi Foundation’s new Women @ Work Breakfast Series is designed to inspire and assist women working in Ras Al Khaimah to build stronger professional support networks while learning from the experiences of others. The series features a diverse range of female leaders who will share their professional journeys across a wide range of relevant career topics. The series is open to everyone (including men!) who would like to know more about how to advance their career, learn some tips and tricks from successful women, and discover strategies to ensure that all workplaces are supportive of both women and men.

The inaugural Women @ Work breakfast will feature a conversation with three C-Suite women from Ras Al Khaimah’s hospitality sector:

  • Alison Grinnell, Chief Executive Officer of RAK Hospitality Holding.

Alison initially joined RAK Hospitality in 2016 as its Chief Financial Officer before assuming the helm as CEO earlier this year. She has over 20 years of experience as an internationally regarded hotels and hospitality consultant, and has worked in countries across Europe, the United States and Middle East / Africa. During her career, Alison has advised corporates, Private Equity companies, Sovereign Wealth Funds and high net worth individuals encompassing owners, operators, investors and tourism heads.  She is one of only two women to ever be featured on Hotelier Middle East’s Power 50 list.

  • Tracey Oliver, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah Al Wadi Desert and The Ritz-Carlton Ras Al Khaimah Al Hamra Beach.

Tracey has more than 20 years of experience in the hospitality sector and began her career as a management trainee at The Ritz-Carlton, Tysons Corner in Virginia. She developed her leadership skills when she became part of the management team at The Ritz-Carlton in Palm Beach and South Beach in Florida. After working for numerous properties in nine different countries, she has returned to The Ritz-Carlton to pursue her passion for leadership and hospitality management.

  • Helen Jacobe, Cluster General Manager of Hilton Ras al Khaimah Resort & Spa, Hilton Garden Inn, Ras al Khaimah.

Helen is a seasoned hotelier with over 30 years of experience, notably in large food and beverage operations and in leading development projects. She was previously the Cluster General Manager of Myanmar where she oversaw the openings and operations of Hilton Nay Pyi Taw, Hilton Ngapali Resort & Spa and Hilton Mandalay. Her role included establishing Hilton's first presence in Myanmar, as well as an award winning vocational training school for the country’s fledgling hospitality industry. Helen has worked in numerous countries throughout the Asia Pacific region and was recently honored with the Women in Leadership award for all of APAC.

The conversation will be led by Dr. Natasha Ridge, the Al Qasimi Foundation’s Executive Director.
