Housing Affordability in Ras Al Khaimah

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) offers various forms of assistance at the federal and emirate levels to make housing affordable for its citizens. Examples of such national and local public schemes include the Sheikh Zayed Housing Program, the President's Initiative, and the Ras Al Khaimah-based Sheikh Saud Housing Scheme. This study attempts to summarize current knowledge of these UAE housing programs and explore key questions that impact their success: How effective are public housing programs in making housing affordable for Emiratis, particularly in Ras Al Khaimah? How do housing projects align with the overall urban form of the city and municipal development strategies? How satisfied are the beneficiaries of these housing programs?
